Get Ready With Me: Going Out Hair
When I go out I like my hair BIG and I mean real big! I'm all about the volume. Recently instead of just straightening my hair and then backcombing it to within an inch of it's life I've started using my Babyliss heated rollers. These add volume and a nice curl and definition to my hair. So here is just my step by step way of how I style my hair when I'm going out.
Step 1:
I start with unstraightened dry hair (preferably washed the day before). I prep my hair either by spraying all over with hairspray or mousse and I then divide my hair into three sections. I have a fringe so I just clip that in so that I don't accidentally roll it.

Summertime Foundation: Garnier B.B Cream Miracle Skin Perfector
So now that
the sunny weather is here it’s time for a more fresh approach to makeup. No one wants a full face of makeup while out
in the sun, you want to look fresh and natural.
That’s why when the sun comes out I switch from my normal medium to full
coverage foundations to light coverage foundations or bb creams.
My current
go to product during our lovely heat wave is the Garnier B.B Cream Miracle Skin
Perfector for combination to oily skin.
When Garnier launched the original a few years back I bought it and
LOATHED it. It just didn’t suit me at all. The colour was too dark, the consistency too
thick and the cream was so oily on my skin! I tried it once or twice and then
gave it away. But this BB cream works so
much better for me.

So why do you wear makeup?
Why do you wear makeup?
It's a question I think a lot of girls are asked from time to time. Some wear it daily, some wear it now and again and many only wear it for special occasions and now and again you find people who never wear it EVER! I myself would wear it everyday if i could, but I'm lazy with a capitol L and because I have to get up at an ungodly hour every morning I actually don't bother with it. I could go for a week or so without it. You see makeup isn't something I need to wear.....it's something i want to wear.
Now I've heard it over and over again "why are you bothering wearing makeup, we aren't going anywhere", "it's bad for your skin", " girls wear makeup to impress boys", "girls wear makeup to impress other girls" "people only wear makeup because to give themselves more confidence" etc etc the list goes on. I've read many articles asking why people bother with makeup and others from people saying they just don't feel like themselves without their makeup. Everyone has their own opinions to makeup and reasons for wearing it or not wearing it.

Revlon Nearly Naked Foundation
"Makeup so refreshingly light, it melts right in, creating a fresh even look. So the only one that knows
you are wearing makeup is you"
So as many of you may know I'm trying to take a more natural approach to my daytime makeup, so in this quest for 'no makeup' makeup I've turned to my trusted friends Revlon. A few weeks ago I decided to try out the (relatively) new Revlon Nearly Naked foundation. I took a while choosing my shade and decided to go for 130 Shell, it was a little too yellow and pale for me but the shade higher was too warm for my skin tone.

My first FOTD
Today I've decided to write a little face of the day (fotd) post. It's only going to be about my makeup becuase I'm afraid I'm not fashionable enough to do an outfit of the day.
So today I had time to actually do my makeup before I headed off to college (yipee). So I took a few snaps of my makeup. I was going for a natural, not wearing much makeup look, not too sure if I nailed it though!

Catrice Calligraph Ultra Slim Eyeliner Pen
Okay, you know the way I always praise gel liner to the high heavens? Well I've got a confession. I've been experimenting. *gasp*
Now that you've had a moment to regain your composure, let me explain. About three weeks ago I came across my old Rimmel flash liner (it's a felt tip liner), and if I'm honest i kind of liked it. Now I've had it maybe 4 years or so but when I bought it I just didn't like it so I left it at the bottom of my makeup pile and forgot about it. I tested it out again a few weeks ago and really liked the style of felt liners. But the Rimmel liner is not only VERY out of date but it quite dry (if I remember correctly that's why I didn't like it in the first place so I can't blame the dryness on being around a long time), so i decided to try my luck out with a new felt tipped liquid liner. I took myself into town and did a spot of shopping.

This or That?
So Sally from the Makeup Directory tagged me in this really cool 'This or That' post. Thank you Sally!!
I thought I'd give a go because these are always nice to read to help you learn more about someone. It allows you a little insight into my mad mind.
Blush or bronzer? : To be honest, I normally wear both. Is that a beauty faux pas? Oops, if it is. I use the bronzer under the cheekbones (like a contour) and the blush on the cheeks. But if I had to choose to wear only one it would be bronzer because it adds a bit of warmth to my pale face.

Recent Purchases
Hey guys, how are you all doing?
Let me tell you about my panic attack filled few days. So on Tuesday I found out that the three projects I had to do on Matlab and R (statistical and mathematicl programmes) were due NOT the Friday week as I had previously thought but the very next day!!!!!!!!!!
And I hadn't even started them!!
So in the space of 36 hours I had to learn how to write documents in latex from scratch, write a report and essay in it, then learn how to use Matlab and create functions in it. Now that my dears is leaving it till the last minute....even for me! But thankfully I got all three projects in with an hour and a half to spare. Phew!!
But enough about my college stress. Recently I was in town and managed to pick up a few new products that I felt I couldn't live without.
Tips to make your gel liner as good as new!
So as I mentioned in my review of my makeup collection my eyeliner of choice is gel! I've been using the same pot of Maybelline Lasting Drama liner for over a year now. I love it! It gives a great longlasting dark line that is smudgeproof and waterproof (although I still manage to smudge it over my eyelid when I'm applying it). One great thing I love about gel liners is you can make the line as think or thin as you'd like.

Blank Canvas Cosmetics: Contour Palette
So firstly I'd like to apologise for my recent absence I've been extremely busy with both college work and looking for summer work (the search is still unsuccessful but I'm remaining hopeful and if anyone knows of anything in Limerick city please let me know), but I'm back now and won't be disappearing anytime soon.
So as you can tell this post is about the Blank Canvas Cosmetics 6 contour palette. I got this about 6 months ago based on the HUGE praise it had received from The Makeup Chair and let me tell you I'm delighted I bought it. Now when I first went to buy it it was out of stock (I was gutted), because it is such a big seller for BCC its often out of stock and you have to be quick to get it. So when I saw it was in stock back last October I instantly got my card out and placed an order!

Perfume Samples: Givenchy, Lacoste and Burberry
So recently some of you may have noticed my tweet about receiving some free perfume samples. I was in Debenhams searching for an aftershave/cologne as a birthday present for my brother to give to his friend because he had no time to go into town and get it himself (I'm just so good, I know). Now let it be known I know NOTHING when it comes to aftershave for guys. I'm useless at it, so after over half an hour of aimless smelling I decided to just ask one of the ladies who worked there to help me. Within 5 minutes she had found a perfect one at half price also! She was just so helpful! To top it all off she gave me all these lovely perfume samples for going and buying my brothers presents for him.

Backcombing *Magic* Brush
So a little while ago I got this little gem for only €1.50 in Pennys. Now as much as I like taking care of my hair and making sure it's in great condition I also ADORE having big bouncy hair! I know, I know....backcombing is bad for your hair but I like big hair! So when I spotted this thing I just had to buy it and give it a go.

MUA Probase Conceal and Highlight Kit
Hey everyone!
Hope you all had a really great St. Patricks weekend.
So in this post I'll be reviewing the MUA Pro-base conceal &brighten palette. I brought this around a month ago from Superdrug for around €4. Now as many of you may know I'm a big fan of MUA, I think they make great quality cosmetics for often less than €5! Their eye palette ranges are quality dupes of the Urban Decay Naked palettes and I'm a big fan also of their lipsticks. So far for me they can do no wrong!

My Want List #1
So last week was a hectic week to say the least. It was Charity Week at my college. Now this is a week where lots of events are held every day throughout campus in order to raise money for charity. In fact this is also a week where every student goes just a little crazy and spends the week drinking! It's great for your social life but not so great for your liver or bank balance. As you know I no longer live near college, I've moved back home (sob!) so I spent the week sleeping on floors or couches. So as you can guess after the

Applying makeup on public transport...Yay or Nay?
Okay, I've a confession to make. I'll admit it. I'm a serial offender when it comes to applying makeup on the bus. I know, i know! I've read the articles where its explicitly explained that a dab or lipgloss or a quick powder of the nose is just fine but putting your full face on is a big fat NO NO, but I can't help it.

Today I was nominated for a Liebster award!
So I'd like to say a big huge thank you to the lovely Rachel at Lust Love & Must Haves for nominating me for a Liebster award. This is my very first nomination so I was super excited to receive it. My day started off with me in an AWFUL mood but this has cheered me up to no end.

My Favourite Lipsticks
This post is just a little short one with swaths and pictures of some of my most used lipsticks. I wasn't a big lipstick fan up until about a year ago and now I can't get enough! I'm in love with pinks at the moment, but what I really want is a nice orange shade.

Bronzed Smokey Eye Look
This is an eye look I love to wear using my Urban Decay Naked palette. Its so simple to but looks really nice (in my opinion).

Step By Step Makeup Application
Before you begin....
It’s
essential when putting on makeup to have a clean face (you wouldn’t start
painting on a dirty canvas?). A clean
face will prevent clogged pores, breakouts and uneven makeup. Firstly wash your
face with a cleanser to suit your skin type. Then use a toner to tighten pores
and get rid your face of excess cleanser. Alternatively if you don’t own a
toner just give your face one

My Foundations
I've picked up lots of different foundations over the years.
but no matter how many new ones I try I ALWAYS keep coming back to my Revlon Colorstay foundation. Somes of the foundations in the picture haven't been used in forever but I just can't bring myself to throw them out I'm afraid.
