Recent Purchases

Hey guys, how are you all doing?

Let me tell you about my panic attack filled few days. So on Tuesday I found out that the three projects I had to do on Matlab and R (statistical and mathematicl programmes) were due NOT the Friday week as I had previously thought but the very next day!!!!!!!!!!
And I hadn't even started them!!
So in the space of 36 hours I had to learn how to write documents in latex from scratch, write a report and essay in it, then learn how to use Matlab and create functions in it. Now that my dears is leaving it till the last minute....even for me! But thankfully I got all three projects in with an hour and a half to spare. Phew!!

But enough about my college stress. Recently I was in town and managed to pick up a few new products that I felt I couldn't live without.

1. Urban Decay Naked Basics:
A while ago I wrote about how much I wanted this palette so when it was on sale for €23 in Debenhams I just couldn't resist. It's a great little palette of matte a semi-matte shades that is just essential to my collection.

2. Cocoa Brown 1 hour tan:
This pink can has been running all over the blogsphere. For only €7.99 I just couldn't resist buying it and I've to admit, it really lives up to all the hype surrounding it. I'll have a review up on it shortly.

3. Palmolive Soft and Gentle deodorant:
This was on special offer in Superdrug for €1.50 and has the lovely smell of lotus and watermelon.

4. Garnier Fresh Essentials toner:
My Olay toner is just about empty and I spotted this for €2.40 in a pharmacy in Limerick city. There were only two in the shop and they were on special offer. This is tailored towards more normal/combination skin but I thought I'd give it a try even if I am oily skinned. My cleanser and moisturiser are tailored towards oily skin so I'm still getting the benefits in my cleansing routine.

5. La Roche-Posay Effaclar Duo:
This cream claims to unclog pores and fix imperfections. I've seem some AMAZING before and after pictures from other people so I'm hoping it can do the same for me! So far I haven't seen any astounding results but I'm remaining optimistic.

6. MeMeMe Beat the Blues:
This highlighter is a dupe for Benefit High Beam which is something I've been lusting after for a while but just can't bring myself to spend the money on it. This only cost €6.99 and even though it isn't as great quality as the high beam but it seems to do a nice job.

7. Revlon Nearly Naked:
I decided to embrace a more lighter coverage foundation than my usual Colorstay so I went out and bought the new Nearly Naked in 130 Shell. On Monday I received a package in the post from Revlon telling me I had won their competition they were running on facebook to win a free foundation and limited edition Jason Brooks print. I received the print in the package and will receive the foundation (in shade 150 nude, if i remember correctly, it's been a while since I entered the competition) shortly.

The print is just beautiful, with the drawing of the woman on the front and "Dare to be......Nearly Naked" written on the back. I'm so looking forward to trying out the foundation. Shell is just a little too light for my skin tone but I've a feeling nude might be a little too dark but who knows....

I hope to have reviews on some of the products shortly.
Thanks for reading.

Effaclar duo is ok, it's making a difference (I think) but nothing as astounding as some of the claims I've read.

    1. It's okay, it seems to work magical wonders for some people but for me it's just making a small difference. My pores still seems clogged but aren't quite as noticeable.

    1. I'm actually really starting to like it. This year I'm attempting to take on a more fresh faced, light coverage, natural makeup look. It's really great for that look I think.
I would definitely encourage you to give it a go. Hopefully you'll see the amazing results other people have gotten but I'm afraid I didn't see those results.
