Dupe Alert! Lidl Suddenly Madame Glamour

Everyone is a fan of a good dupe right? Especially if that dupe is less than 6% of the cost of the original. It may seem too good to be true but the Lidl Suddenly Madame Glamour retails for €5 and smells almost identical to a bottle of Chanel Coco Mademoiselle.

Coco Mademoiselle, which retails for about €88, is described as a fresh and modern oriental utterly feminine scent which expresses refined sensuality and incredible freshness. Although I do not own a bottle of Coco Mademoiselle (my budget doesn't stretch that far.....yet) I have spritzed some of the perfume in Brown Thomas and to my uneducated nose they smell the exact same. Not the most scientific test I'll admit, but it's the best i could do.

This cheap alternative may tempt people, since it does smell so similar. There are three drawbacks to the Lidl version though: packaging, longevity and availability. The packaging is cheap looking, especially the lid which looks just like a radiator valve and when these are released in Lidl they sell!! The other drawback is that it doesn't last as long as the Chanel version but a quick spritz throughout the day can rectify that.

Suddenly Madame Glamour has been my go to fragrance for the past year and I don't see myself changing scents anytime soon. It's a lovely floral perfume and I'm not embarrassed to admit it's from Lidl. I'd happily save my pennies and use them for some other purpose.

  3. Wait what? wtf? I was just in lidl today looking for the most amazing conditioner which they decided to discontinue *tears* (Oz Botanics Miracle Moisture conditioner btw) and I saw their perfumes and was like "meh, they're going to smell like turd" ...but now I have to go back to see what you're talking about! Oh I'm glad I've seen this post!
